Tournament format:

• Swiss format with 7 rounds, played under FMJD rules
• Games annotated and played with the clock (2 hours per game per player)
• Ties broken by Sonneborn-Berger system (including for first place).
• Starts at 12:00 on July 25-26-27 at Complexe Desjardins and at 9:00 on July 28 at Olympic Stadium.
• The Intermediate Class will play all in one day (July 27, starting at 12:00) semi-rapid games.

Entry registration*

• Championship Class: $50 per player
• Intermediate Class: $10 per player
• Deadline to register: July 23, 2013!
(plus membership card of $5 if it applies)

Prize money:

• $1000 will be added, courtesy of our generous Mario Bélanger.
• The added money, plus the entry fees wll be distributed as follows in the Championship Class:
  $500 to the winner, $400 to the 2nd, $300 to the 3rd, $200 to 4th, $100 to 5th.
• The first prize garanteed is $500 but could go up to $1000 depending on the number of entries.
• Possible additional prizes for best sportsmanship and best combination of the tournament.

Tentative schedule for Championship Class (7 rounds):

- Thursday July 25 : 2 rounds (from 12:00 to 22:00) at Complexe Desjardins
- Friday July 26 : 1 round (from 12:00 to 27:00) at Complexe Desjardins
- Saturday July 27 : 2 rounds (from 12:00 to 22:00) at Complexe Desjardins
- Sunday July 28 : 2 rounds (from 9:00 to 17:00)  at Olympic Stadium
